Matthew Fisher received his PhD from Stanford University with support from his Hertz Foundation Fellowship. Since programming a PC at the age of seven, Matthew has been fascinated by technology. He envisions cars safely driving themselves and crash tests reliably taking place without actually using automobiles. While at Stanford, he studied automated vision/navigation and phot-realistic simulation. He developed a novel patent-pending graphics performance tool for Microsoft. As an undergrad at Caltech, he presented his work at the foremost graphics forum SIGGRAPH.

Outside of academis, Matthew is a cook, unicyclist, and swing dancer.
