Samson Timoner, PhD, is a machine vision expert and serial entrepreneur.

His first company was Scalable Display Technologies which creates extremely high resolution displays by tiling projectors and using a camera-based feedback loop to make the projectors appear as one gigantic display. His second company is Mythical Labs, in which he co-created the Cyclops, a collaborative video conferencing platform that enables whiteboard sharing, annotation, archiving and transcription.

Samson has more than 15 years machine vision experience, including writing multiple vision software libraries, and contributing to open source toolkits such as the visualization toolkit (VTK) and the Insight Toolkit (ITK). He has a number of vision patents. And, he organizes vision related gatherings both in Boston and at CVPR, the premier vision conference.

With the support from the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation Fellowship, Samson received his PhD in electrical engineering from MIT with a focus on fast image-processing algorithms. Samson has done research at prestigious universities including MIT, Caltech, Harvard, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In 2016, his work and leadership with Cyclops led to the The Newman Entrepreneurial Initiative award.
