Michael Foley, PhD

1967 Hertz Fellow

Michael Foley is a retired staff scientist for the International Technology Assessments Group of the National Security Directorate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Since joining the PNNL in 1980, Michael worked primarily in the areas of quaternary geomorphology, quantitative modeling of geologic and hydrologic processes, systems analysis of synoptic data exploration, and field studies to provide ground truth for remote geologic sensing studies.

In 1967, Michael received his BS in engineering, and in 1968, he received his MS in aeronautics, and in 1976, he received his PhD in geology from the California Institute of Technology.
