Daniel O’Malley, PhD

Dan O’Malley is presently a graduate student in the laboratory of Professor Phil Baran at the Scripps Research Institute, where he studies the synthesis of complex bioactive natural products. He is currently writing his thesis on the synthesis of dimeric pyrrole-imidazole alkaloids. In June, he will begin his postdoc with Professor Alois Fürstner at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Dan was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and received a B.S. in chemistry from RIce University in 2003.
