Eric Firing, PhD

Eric Firing is a Professor of Oceanography at University of Hawai`i at Manoa.
His research interests included: Equatorial Circulation, General Circulation, and Physical Oceanographic Technology.
Eric received his BS in Earth and Planetary Science from MIT and then his PhD, jointly, from MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. He was then a Research Associate for the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) in Seattle, Washington and then for the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (JIMAR), in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has been at the University of Hawaii since then, serving as Assistant Physical Oceanographer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and now Professor.
