Alex Wissner-Gross, MIT, and the Wikiosity Project

April 18, 2007

Since 2003 Wolfram Research has graciously donated Mathematica to Hertz Fellows. Alex Wissner-Gross, MIT, used Mathematica for a statistical analysis in his recently published paper, Preparation of topical reading lists from the link structure of Wikipedia (Proc. IEEE ICALT 2006). The Wikiosity Project, which is the product of Alex's paper, has been incorporated into the One Laptop Per Child software base, so millions of children my soon indirectly benefit from Wolfram's sponsorship of Mathematica for Hertz Fellows.
