Hertz Fellow Keith Dionne has come a long way since his Hertz Fellowship at MIT. On May 3, he and graduate school friend Frank Gentile launched Casma Therapeutics with $58 million in venture capital. Casma, launched by Third Rock Ventures, where Dionne has been an entrepreneur-in-residence for the last year, will be focused on finding new therapeutics based on autophagy, a process that cells use to digest and recycle debris.
Dionne said he plans to be there “until we get some good drugs out and make a difference.”
