Will Allen
William Allen is a junior fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows.
Under the guidance of advisors Karl Deisseroth and Liqun Luo, William developed new tools to study the structure and function of the brain at an unprecedented scale. He applied them to understand the neural basis of the sensation of thirst—how it is represented in the brain and how it regulates behavior. For this work he received the Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement during graduate studies in the biological sciences. William received a BS from Brown University and was a Churchill Scholar at the University of Cambridge, where he received his master’s degree. He is currently a junior fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows at Harvard University.
