Brandon DeKosky is a
postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Allergy
and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Vaccine
Research Center near Washington, D.C., where he works on new ways to improve
and analyze vaccine responses with a focus on the development of safe and
effective HIV and RSV vaccines. With his Hertz Fellowship, Brandon pursued his
PhD in chemical engineering at The University of Texas, Austin. His research
focus was using high throughput
gene sequencing techniques to characterize the genetic variability of mammalian
B-cell populations. This work could open up a completely new approach to
analyzing immune responses for diagnostic and drug development purposes.
