Shannon Yee is an assistant professor in mechanical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was named a U.S. DOE Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative Fellow and helped start the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy (ARPA-E) as the first ARPA-E Fellow. Shannon was also one of six Hertz Fellows to receive a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and participate in the foundation’s “Reinvent the Toilet Challenge.” Shannon holds a BS in mechanical engineering and an MS in nuclear engineering from Ohio State University, as well as a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
