Daniel, 22, believes that solving world problems may well start in the chemistry laboratory. From finding alternative energy to improving basic research techniques, the Los Angeles native is excited to work with 2D infrared spectroscopy. The technique helps determine how fast certain phenomena occur in liquids, where time scales are very fast. Daniel, a Yale graduate, says that understanding chemical reactions in different environments will help scientists solve specific problems, some in biology and medicine.
