Mark’s thesis developed and analyzed novel protocols for spectrally efficient multihop wireless communication in ad hoc networks formed among vehicles on highways. His graduate research focused on signal processing applications in the field of intelligent transportation systems, including work on vehicle localization in environments without GPS coverage, robust and secure estimation of traffic conditions from multiple sensing modalities, and distributed beamforming systems for long range communication. Mark is currently working at Tarana Wireless, a Bay Area start up company developing smart antenna systems to enable next generation broadband wireless networks.
