Lily Kim, PhD, is an independent consultant at Lily Kim
Consulting, LLC in the San Francisco Bay Area, who advises funders on new
biotechnology landscapes. Recently, she was part of the business development
team driving early stage technology commercialization at the Wyss Institute for
Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University, where she worked with
a variety of technologies including DNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology,
diagnostics, medical devices and drug delivery. In Boston, Lily also founded
FluidicMEMS, a resource for the microfluidics commercialization community. She
has served on the MIT Enterprise Forum Innovation Series Committee, and was
selected as one of Mass High Tech’s “Women to Watch” in 2013.
As an undergrad, Lily received her MEng and SB in electrical
engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Then, as a
Hertz Fellow, she obtained her PhD in biomedical engineering from the
Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Lily wants to
help accelerate and improve the process of early stage life sciences
commercialization. Moreover, Lily is an active member in the Hertz Community.
She serves on the board of directors, fellowship and program council, and as an
interviewer of the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation.
