Sandeep Singhal oversees engineering, program management, business planning, and operations across consumer and enterprise Bing Maps and Bing Local businesses. Previously, he led the Internet Explorer and Web Technologies group overseeing web standards, web compatibility, tools, and performance for Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 8.1. He was previously General Manager of the Windows Networking group, where he led all areas of network communications, network security, datacenter networking, enterprise networking infrastructure, network development platforms, peer-to-peer communications, and collaboration experiences for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Prior to Microsoft, Sandeep co-founded ReefEdge Networks, a pioneer in wireless LAN security, mobility, and management products for multi-site enterprises. Sandeep was previously a chief architect at IBM, where he developed the IBM WebSphere Everyplace Suite and Lotus Sametime product lines.

Sandeep has served on advisory boards for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Research Council, and the European Commission defining networking research direction. Sandeep's credits include 79 issued patents and dozens of publications, including three books. Sandeep holds MS and PhD degrees in computer science from Stanford University, as well as BS degrees in computer science and in mathematical sciences and a BA in mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.
